This client was a pioneer in the manufacturing of transistors and of integrated circuits. Their manufacturing facility in the Philippines has many legacy equipment which either do not have any connectivity outside the equipment, or use legacy and/or proprietary operating systems that cannot be interfaced easily with other system. TPS converted these equipment to be SECS GEM capable which allows the client manufacturing execution system (MES) to collect production data as well as perform recipe management thereby achieving better quality control and improving yield.
Our client is one of the largest providers of test and assembly services for a wide range of semiconductor devices, including memory, mixed-signal/RF and logic integrated circuits.
This client was one of the top 5 test and packaging giants which serves semiconductor companies worldwide. Their plants in Singapore and China have a variety of tester and handler models. In order to better measure equipment productivity to improve yield, they require all test binning data, test and index time to be collected and displayed on their OEE system in real-time. The solution must be running 24×7 and on top of that, be able to detect change in tester/handler combination as the handler can be moved around the production floor. This is a job for non other then the UECC solution. The UECC is a IOT enabled box with a small footprint no larger than a network router and can be run for 24×7. The UECC smart firmware/software can also detect changes in tester/handler combination and change the GPIB interpretation algorithm automatically.
